These are some self portraits I took for my photography class (featuring my fresh nose piercing); I'm pretty satisfied with the results so I thought I'd share them with you all! I used a seemingly masculine object (the hats) to juxtapose and cover up the femininity that is so evident in the pictures.
Someone in my class today asked me what the theme behind my pictures is: At the beginning I started with glamour shots you often see in fashion photography. Then, I took a street-fashion object that is mostly associated with men and made it feminine. At the end I decided to explore what constitutes beauty in modern society and how that morphs the female's perspective of herself.
